Some testimonies on what God did at the Pasadena Global Day of Prayer
Memorial Park:  May 11, 2008

It was a powerful time, the anointing and presence of God was truly there. – Pastor Jean Burch

It was a birthing of the Church of the City – Pastor Lucious Smith

I felt the evening was a resounding success. The numbers were just enough to make the point God wanted to make.  The pastors took the lead and demonstrated to our congregations that we are in front of them, paving the way of unity and forming the One Church in our City!   It was a great demonstration of what God has been doing in our [pastors] hearts and our lives the past 3 years.  I also felt very strongly that the church of the City was birthed into the Memorial Park!  This was the first time, officially, that so many pastors from different ethnic, racial, cultural, denominational and language backgrounds had come together to worship in unity in Pasadena! This was also the first time so many of our congregations came together, in a public place, (not at someone’s church building), to worship together in unity!  Pastor Henry Sideropoulos

Most of the time we "see" the back side of the spiritual tapestry, that is our City.   We "see" the clipped threads, the knots, a seeming chaotic cacophony.     On the Global Day of Prayer, God turned around our spiritual City tapestry to show us all a priceless masterpiece - designed, crafted, and executed by the Master's hand….We are in a season approaching our third year of praying together weekly, on one accord, the Pastors of Pasadena - unity, power and presence: a repositioning of Pasadena, a tilt in our axis on May 11, 2008.  A kairos moment in the history of Pasadena, California, USA took place.   This crown City belongs to Jesus Christ, now and forever more.  Pastor Karen Erikson

Although we did not get the weather we hoped for I do believe it was a great start toward unifying the congregations of Pasadena into one church with one another and with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Like many others I'm sure, the highlight for me was linking arms in unity with the other pastors present. Only the Spirit of God can bring unity across cultural, racial, linguistic, gender, and generational boundaries - and the Spirit is certainly at work bring his unity.  Pastor Scott Daniels

It was effective in bringing together the pastors of the city in a united show of force.  This was very powerful in showing others that pastors care.  Also the diversity of the program was encouraging.  I believe that the Lord confirmed, in the hearts of all present, that His will is for us to be one.  Our “oneness” will be the vehicle for ushering in sustained revival.  Pastor Kerwin Manning.

It was such a privilege to attend and serve at the Global Day of Prayer in Pasadena.  Wow...to witness history in the making and the beginning of something amazing.  Akiah Robinson

There was a proclamation of Truth in the heart of the city – boldness and fearlessness in the public arena.  There was also forgiveness and repentance by pastors and people – pastors modeling how to do this and leading by example.  Pastor Dana Krull

What I felt was that God planted a seed of unity that will grow as we obey the voice of the Holy Spirit. In another sense I felt what God has already finished, he has begun. God never begins to finish, He always finishes to begin.  Evangelist Gideon Yohannes.

I had a strong sense of his presence that began on Friday evening...and went through Sunday.  When my friend Maria came to the event she felt the Lords presence so strongly that her knees almost buckled.  As I prayed for the congregations of Pasadena, I felt a cold chill and this overpowering sense of an antichrist spirit, which was affecting the congregations because people don't really believe prayer changes things.  Karen Hirst

It was a great event! Thank God for His presence and the willingness of people to stay despite the cold….  I truly appreciated the diversity of cultures and denominations represented.  Pastor Marion Skeete
